                       Sustainability Orientation of Geography Study Programmes
                       This paper explores the nexus between sustainable development and higher
                       education in the field of geography, with particular emphasis on the integra-
                       tion of sustainability-related content into geography study programmes at all
                       Slovenian universities. The analysis encompasses all compulsory and elective
                       courses offered within the geography curricula at the Department of Geogra-
                       phy, Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, identifying the specific Sustainable
                       Development Goals (SDGs) addressed in each course. Based on the degree of
                       integration of sustainability-related content, the courseswere categorised into
                       four distinct types. The results reveal that approximately 75 of the courses
                       directly incorporate sustainability topics, with each course addressing, on av-
                       erage, six different SDGs. These findings indicate a high level of institutional
                       and disciplinary awareness regarding the importance of sustainable develop-
                       ment and its intrinsic connection to geographical education. Additionally, the
                       paper presents three selected cases of good practice, in which students were
                       actively engaged in research projects focused on sustainable development.
                       The outcomes of these projects have been successfully integrated into both
                       academic curricula and broader educational practice.
