                       meetings with the writer and future educators, students of pre-school educa-
                       tion at the University of Maribor, and the children from nearby public kinder-
                       garten. A case study involving part-time junior students of pre-school educa-
                       tion (n = 13) was conducted. An analysis of the content of answers demonstrat-
                       ingawidesemanticfieldofunderstandingofcomprehensivereadingwascon-
                       ducted, serving as a case of cross-curricular integration that can significantly
                       contribute to the development of the components of reading literacy and a
                       sustainable future.
