Students’ Perspective on Including ICT in Science Lessons
In the article, we discuss the students’ opinions on the use of Information and
Communications Technology (ICT) in science lesson. The research was con-
ducted by 39 1st year students and 40 students of the 4th year of the Faculty
of Education, course Primary school teaching. All the data was collected with
a questionnaire, which covered three fields: (1) estimation of affinity for sci-
ence and qualification for work with ICT, (2) the students’ opinions on the ad-
vantages and disadvantages of using ICT and the use of ICT in the fieldwork,
(3) the students’ attitude towards the use of ICT in science lesson. The results
have shown that the students of the 4th year proved to be slightly more criti-
cal of the ICT use in science lesson than the students of the 1st year, which can
be attributed to the knowledge and experiences they have obtained during
their studying. At this point, we would like to point out that all the students are
aware of the fact that ICT does not only have positive effects and that learning
through experience is crucial.
