Summary

School counseling occupies one of the fundamental areas of education, the
aim of which is to ensure that all stakeholders in the school space achieve
basic, general, and specific educational goals as successfully as possible. As
an integral part of any educational institution, it is involved in the complex
solution of many educational, psychological, and social issues daily. The ta-
sks of the counseling service are demanding and diverse, as they encompass
the area of assistance in learning and teaching, assistance in teaching school
culture, education, climate, and order, monitoring physical, personal, and so-
cial development, school and career counseling activities, and counseling in
             socio-economicdistressandothereducational-psychologicalissuesfacedby
             all stakeholders.
In a comprehensive monograph, the authors note that such a broad and
             challenginginterdisciplinarytopicofschoolcounselingserviceactivityin the
Slovenian school system has so far been treated only marginally in the pro-
             fessional and academic literature.
Therefore, with their rich experience, they have prepared a monograph
that can also be a study tool for school counselors and other teachers in the
relevant pedagogical, basic psychological and educational care of students.
Some Selected Topics and Current Issues in School Counseling Work is a
unique contribution for school counselors, teachers, researchers, students,
parents, andanyonewho wantsto learn about anddiveinto different areasof
counseling and counseling work. In the book, the authors also tend to reveal
some issues that are still hidden behind the veil of ignorance, fear and most
importantly the lack of professional and educational knowledge in Slovenia.
In terms of content, the book is sensibly and logically rounded into sixteen
             unites, namely;

                – The meaning and role of the guidance service, where he defines the de-
velopment of the school guidance service over time and highlights the
profile of the professional employed in the guidance service. They pre-
sent the role and importance of the SSS in the educational institution,
the activities, objectives, and content it deals with in its work with all
                  stakeholders.
