Music Therapy in Paediatric Health Care –
                             A Systematic Review
                             Music therapy is a field that is making its way around the world, in-
                             cluding in paediatric settings, and existing research proves many pos-
                             itive  effects  and  potentials  of  this  non-pharmacological  approach.
                             Music therapy is incorporated into the treatment of sick children and
                             their parents in various departments of the paediatric clinic. The ef-
                             fects of music therapy for specific client groups are targeted differ-
         44                  ently, which is why it is necessary to explore each area separately.
                             In this chapter, we will present a review of the literature and rele-
                             vant research in the field of music therapy in order to showcase exist-
                             ing quality practices. A systematic review is conducted in accordance
                             with PRISMA guidelines. The literature and research review cov-

                     Uvod
                     Bruscia (2014) glasbeno terapijo opredeljuje kot refleksiven proces, v ka-
                     terem terapevt s pomočjo raznolikih glasbenih izkušenj in odnosov, ki se
                     tvorijo preko glasbe, podpira klienta pri optimizaciji njegovega zdravja.
                     Svetovna zveza za glasbeno terapijo (World Federation of Music The-
                     rapy, 2011) dodaja širšo definicijo glasbene terapije:
                         Glasbena terapija je strokovna uporaba glasbe in njenih ele-
                         mentov  kot  intervencija  v  medicinskem,  izobraževalnem  in
                         vsakdanjem okolju pri posameznikih, skupinah, družinah ali
                         skupnostih, ki si prizadevajo za optimizacijo kakovosti življen-
                         ja in izboljšanje telesnega, socialnega, komunikacijskega, čus-
                         tvenega,  intelektualnega  in  duhovnega  zdravja  ter  dobrega
                         počutja. Raziskovanje, praksa, izobraževanje in klinično uspo-
                         sabljanje v glasbeni terapiji temeljijo na strokovnih standardih v
                         skladu s kulturnimi, z družbenimi in s političnimi okviri.
                     Cilji glasbene terapije so odvisni od značilnosti ciljne populacije in so
                     prilagojeni skupini ali posamezniku. Terapija je lahko usmerjena v laj-
                     šanje telesnih, čustvenih, psiholoških in socialnih težav, v rehabilitaci-
                     jo, povrnitev sposobnosti, izboljšanje kakovosti življenja ter raziskovanje
