behavioural-cognitive therapy and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy.
Vita Poštuvan is the Deputy Head of the Slovene Centre for Suicide Research at the
University of Primorska (Andrej Marušič Institute), where she leads the clinical-research
work. She is involved in research and prevention of suicidal behaviour and mental health
promotion, implementation of prevention programs and clinical counselling work. Her
doctoral research used a qualitative method to study the experience of suicide, protective
and risk factors in the process of reintegration of loved ones after a suicide. Part of her
findings is the Growing Flower Model, which integrates and explains various aspects
of the experience of grief. As part of a postdoctoral project, she conducted part of her
study between 2016 and 2017 as a visiting researcher at Medical University in Vienna (in
the Suicide Research Group of the Department of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy).
Previously, she worked professionally as a visiting researcher at National Center of
Neurology and Psychiatry in Tokyo, Japan. She also has international work experience
from China (NGO Hua Dan, Beijing) and India (NGO Association of People with
Disabilities, Bangalore). Apart from research work, she also has experience in working
in health care, therapeutic work with people in need and crisis situations. She is in the
supervision stage of training as a behavioural-cognitive therapist and offers counselling
through ŠOUM Psychological Counselling Centre. She also offers mindfulness-based
cognitive therapy, primarily through the NARA Programs. Over the past 15 years she has
published a large number of scientific articles and chapters, in addition to a large number
of papers and presentations at international and national conferences, which have also
appeared in the most prestigious international scientific publications. She is the first
psychologist in Slovenia to obtain EuroPsy - a European certificate in psychology.
Meta Lavrič ha iniziato a fare ricerche sul comportamento suicida come studentessa
di psicologia. Nel 2015 si è laureata con la tesi in Attitudini verso il suicidio sotto la
supervisione di izr. prof. dr. Bojan Musil, e nel 2018 ha conseguito la laurea magistrale
con la tesi Esperienze di funzionari penitenziari con i comportamenti suicidari dei
detenuti sotto la supervisione di izr. prof. dr. Vita Poštuvan. Dopo aver superato l’esame
professionale in assistenza sanitaria, è entrata a far parte di un gruppo di ricerca del
Centro sloveno per la ricerca sul suicidio presso l’Università del Litorale (Istituto Andrej
Marušič) nel giugno 2019, inizialmente come ricercatrice, e da ottobre 2019 come
giovane ricercatrice sotto il tutoraggio di izr. prof. dr. Vita Poštuvan, vice responsabile
del centro. Presso l’UP IAM SCSR, partecipa all’implementazione degli attuali progetti
di ricerca e intervento, internazionali e nazionali, nel campo della salute mentale e
del comportamento suicidario, nonché all’organizzazione della conferenza Triple i in
suicidologia. È coinvolta nella realizzazione di programmi di studio presso UP FAMNIT,
e come collaboratrice esterna partecipa anche alla Facoltà di Lettere dell’Università
di Maribor, nella materia Salute mentale. Oltre ai suoi studi di dottorato, è in processo
di ottenere una formazione in terapia cognitivo-comportamentale e terapia cognitiva
basata sulla consapevolezza.
