Systematic Review of the Effectiveness of Social and Emotional Learning
                  Approaches in Preschool Education
This paper focuses on exploring various approaches to fostering social and
emotional development in preschool children. Based on a systematic review
of the literature, three selected programmes were analysed: Tools of the Mind,
HighScope, and Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies – PATHS, all of
which aim to enhance social and emotional competencies in early childhood.
The analysis of the effectiveness of these approaches revealed that studies
predominantly report improvements in children’s social development during
the preschool years, whereas less attention has been paid to the promotion of
emotional expression, recognition, and self-regulation. The findings indicate
a need for more rigorous methodological design in future research and un-
derscore the importance of further investigation into the role of these social
and emotional learning approaches in supporting the holistic development of
                  preschool children.
