Introducting the Usage of Mobile Devices for Learning History
to the Students of History Didactics
Primary and secondary history curriculum recommends the development of
digital competence by integrating ICT to find useful and credible information
through the Web for processing, storing and presenting lessons about the hu-
man past, and for communicating and learning in online environments such
as online classrooms, e-portfolio etc. The realization of learning goals related
to digital competence enables the use of mobile devices for the learning of
history in the field work, which provides quick access to online historical re-
sources, and encourages critical and creative thinking. The results of the field
work can be prepared in the form of video, audio or photo reports using mo-
bile devices. In order to stimulate and develop the diverse possibilities of the
use of ICT from education curriculum, students of history didactics should be
equipped with appropriate digital competences, which is presented in the ar-
ticle on the historical field work according to the cultural and historical legacy
of Kranjska Gora.
